Questions
Before you reach out
What happens on the first conversation?
We talk for about 30 minutes about what you’re trying to accomplish and where you feel you’re falling short. If you aren’t sure, that’s fine, and we start there. I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help and which service fits. It’s free, with no obligation.
Will my staff know when you visit?
No. For the First Impression Audit I call and visit unannounced, the way a new customer would. After that, I share what I saw with you first, and then we decide together how to bring it to your team.
Will what you find stay private?
Yes. What I find goes to you first, and only you. If you choose team coaching, we decide together what to share and how, so it helps your team improve and doesn’t single anyone out.
Do you record calls or take photos?
My coaching and client conversations may be recorded, and I tell you at the start of every call. If you’d rather I not record, say so and I stop. I never record the unannounced calls I make to your business as part of an audit. I take notes instead. Recordings are kept only while we’re working together and are deleted when the work ends, or within 30 days if we don’t work together. Nothing I collect from you is sold or shared. Anything I photograph is what any customer could see, such as the entrance, the menu and the table. It’s shared with you only.
How is this different from a mystery shopping company?
A mystery shopping firm sends trained shoppers to score many locations against a checklist. That’s the right tool for chains. I do the audit myself, for owner-led businesses, and I give you a candid read and a short plan, then coach your team on it.
How long until I see results?
Reviews are often the first sign. When a team greets, serves and follows up more consistently, guests notice, and it tends to show up first in new Google and Yelp reviews, especially ones that mention your people by name. After that, it depends on the business. In a restaurant, expect changes in how your team behaves, and in repeat visits, within 60 to 90 days, with your overall rating following. A sales team may start booking more meetings within 30 to 90 days, and closed deals follow your sales cycle.
What results should I expect?
I can’t promise a number, and I wouldn’t trust anyone who does. You get a clear picture of what your customers experience, a short list of the changes that matter most, and coaching to make them stick. We pick the few numbers in your business that move revenue, such as repeat visits, average check, meetings booked or renewals, and measure them before and after. Published research ties better reviews and stronger coaching to higher sales. I share it on the Results page as industry figures, not a promise.
Do you coach sales teams?
Yes, through the people who lead them. I coach founders, partners and sales leaders on the calls, the first meetings and the follow-up, and help them bring it to the team. If you sell to private equity firms or other hard-to-reach buyers, that’s a good fit too.
Do you help with events?
Yes, with strategy. An Event Strategy Session covers who is in the room, how the evening flows, and what guests remember. You and your team run it from there. I don’t run events.
What if my business is really struggling?
Start with the audit. It shows where the biggest losses are, and we decide together what comes next. If you want a deeper round, we scope it in a written proposal. This is sales and customer experience work, not financial restructuring.
Do you work outside Orange County?
Yes. I’m based in Orange County, and I take site visits and in-person work anywhere in the country. Sales coaching also works well over video.
How does pricing work?
Audits are a fixed project fee. Coaching is per session or a monthly retainer. Event strategy and talks are per session. After our free first conversation, I send a written proposal with a fixed price before any work begins, so there are no surprises. Travel outside Orange County is billed as expenses with a daily per diem, agreed in the proposal.
